Professor Glenda Caldwell

Training Centre for BITA

Dr Stephen Whyte is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Behavioural Economics in the School of Economics & Finance, QUT. His research focus explores large scale decision making in mate choice settings. His work takes a multi-disciplinary approach in studying key sex differences in human behaviour, with work that bridges the fields of applied micro-economics, personality & social psychology, and evolutionary biology. His most recent research has explored such diverse topics as sex differences in nonbinary gender identification, male & female decision making in assisted reproductive & donor insemination medical environments, and preferences vs choice in cyber dating markets.

Mr. Tom Williamson

Australian Cobotics Centre Associate Director (Research Training), based in the School of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering

Australian Centre for Cobotics

Prof Caldwell is an architecture and design scholar with internationally recognised expertise in physical, digital, and robotic fabrication, leading Industry 4.0 innovation through human-centred research in design robotics, media architecture, and human-building interaction. Her research sits at the cross section of architecture and interaction design where she: (1) integrates human, social, and technical considerations into robotic processes and industrial manufacturing; and, (2) uses a ‘Research-through-Design’ approach to engage industry and communities in a reflexive conversation about creativity, architectural innovation and how we might collaboratively solve societal and environmental challenges and harness future opportunities.

Dr. Stephen Whyte
