Research Skills Development Workshop on Diary Studies

Research Skills Development Workshop on
Diary Studies with Dr Sophie Coulon

Date: Wednesday 1 May

Location: QUT Gardens Point

Event Details

The workshop was designed for those interested in understanding everyday experiences and behaviours. In just two hours, we covered the fundamentals of diary studies and when to use them, how to design an effective diary study, including practical tips, and how to analyse and interpret diary study data using mixed effects regressions. Participants left with a solid understanding of diary studies and practical skills for conducting their own research.

Sophie conducted the session, which had in attendance undergraduate students and researchers alike. Sophie is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ARC Training Centre for Behavioural Insights for Technology Adoption. Sophie has a background in social and organisational psychology. Her research focused on the triggers and mechanisms underlying age-based stereotype threat in the workplace. Throughout her candidature, Sophie explored a range of other research areas including workplace bullying, early career researcher wellbeing, the four-day work week, and hybrid working practices.
