2025 best bita Conference
This year’s conference brought together academic, private sector, and policy
researchers to share, learn, and collaborate on cutting-edge scientific research
focused on understanding human behavior. Together, we explored how these
insights impact decision-making and, ultimately, society as a whole.
The conference was proudly sponsored by DecisionDesign and the Behavioural Economics and Research Team (BERT), Department of the Premier and Cabinet (Queensland).
Caleb Lo HDR Student Award
At this year’s conference, we had the honour of presenting the Caleb Lo HDR Student Award - a tribute to an incredible individual whose passion and contributions left a lasting impact on all who knew him. During his time at QUT, Caleb was a member of the BEST Centre and dedicated tutor, inspiring and guiding undergraduate students. In 2019, Caleb was awarded a prestigious scholarship to pursue a PhD in Germany. Unfortunately, after a short health battle, Caleb passed away before he could begin his studies.
This award was established in his loving memory, honouring his dedication to research and the lasting impression he made on all who were fortunate to know him.
This year, we are proud to congratulate Michelle Lee, University of Melbourne and Rachel Hall, QUT (Queensland University of Technology), for winning the Caleb Lo HDR Student Award. Their outstanding contributions to research exemplify the spirit and excellence that Caleb embodied.
As we present this award annually, we remember Caleb's incredible spirit, his love for knowledge, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
